As always the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of the Potomac ran a first-class show! The winners’ photos are up on my gallery site http://www.scjgraphics.smugmug.com for viewing. ...a beautiful park-like setting
I’ll be headed to Gettysburg, PA this week for the PWCCP Annual Specialty Show! This is the second year at the Eisenhower Inn and what a great venue it is. I’ll be ringside again shooting candids of all the action, as well as shooting candids outside on the beautiful grounds. I thought the New Year was starting off just fine, then life threw a whammy! My in-laws had health issues that required spending the end of January, February and March in my hometown to care for them.

Then on March 3rd my dear, sweet Mother passed away after her 20-year battle with cancer. Needless to say, there hasn’t been time for photo shoots or time to update this blog, but I did want to post a photo of Mom that I took last Mother’s Day. Her hair had started to grow back and she was enjoying sitting on her swing poolside. Unfortunately, later that summer she went back on chemo as the cancer had spread to her lungs. Believe me she was a “hair” person and it took everything I could do to get her to let me photograph her. She was my biggest fan, though, and I think she knew why I was so bent on taking her picture whenever I could. Miss you, Mom, but know you’re in a better place….

Agility Action!
Finally finished uploading the balance of the agility candids from the PWCCA National Specialty. What a fun day that was to be a spectator! Welcome to my blog! The new year should bring lots to talk about regarding my venture into photography and building websites on a full time basis. Decided to add a blog link to my site as a way to let everyone know what dog/horse shows I’ll be attending in 2009. This past weekend I shot some candids at the Celebrate Virginia Dog Show Cluster right in my backyard of Fredericksburg, VA. The Expo Center is a wonderful new, indoor venue that really brought out the spectators and hopefully will bring even more exhibitors next year. I mainly shot the Pembroke Welsh Corgi entry, but took some time to photograph some of the other breed rings, grooming areas, group ring and any cute dog I could find.
