PWCCA National Specialty Herding Trial
Don’t know where the time has gone since I last posted to this blog? It was a very busy summer and fall, especially with the coverage of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America’s National Specialty in September! What a fantastic week beginning with the herding trials in Birdsboro, PA and then agility, obedience, rally and all the conformation ring candids in Lancaster. Thank you so much to the PWCCA and to all the breeders/owners of the many talented and lovely Pembrokes who graced the front of my lens.
All-breed shows kept me busy in December, January and February and now I look forward to the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of the Potomac’s Specialty in April. This will be the third year taking candids, so reservations are filling up fast. Please be sure to send in your reservations at http://www.scjgraphics.net/photorequests.html
Promise to do better with updating…..

I am really excited to be the PWCCA’s official photographer for the performance events at the Specialty this year! I’ll be in Birdsboro, PA for the herding practice Friday, September 17th scoping out the venue and course setup for the best shots for the actual trials on Saturday and Sunday. Thanks, Cindy Traylor, for allowing me to get this preview! After that I’ll be in Lancaster at the Host Hotel for Obedience, Rally and Agility on Monday and Tuesday for candids and win shots. Can’t wait to see all the Corgi fun! Just a reminder, all candid and win shot photos will be posted to my gallery site for viewing and purchase. Win shots will not be automatically mailed to the competitors. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions: email@example.com or visit my website: http://www.scjgraphics.net
With the spring dog show season fast approaching, you can now register early to have your dog(s) photographed in the ring. I will be at the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of the Potomac Annual Specialty on April 21 through 23, 2010 as the official candid photographer for conformation, obedience and rally. To make sure I “shoot your dog(s)”, just complete the form at http://www.scjgraphics.net/photorequests.html I will be available to take candid “portrait -style” shots outside on the lovely grounds if weather permits. Look for a private session form coming soon.

As always the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of the Potomac ran a first-class show! The winners’ photos are up on my gallery site http://www.scjgraphics.smugmug.com for viewing. Per my usual, I took a lot of photos, so at this point if I don’t have your dogs’ classes up, please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will look and see if I have shots of them. Look for some of the candids in the next issue of the PWCCP’s newsletter, The Tide. Many thanks to the Potomac Club for allowing me to capture the fun!
...a beautiful park-like setting
I’ll be headed to Gettysburg, PA this week for the PWCCP Annual Specialty Show! This is the second year at the Eisenhower Inn and what a great venue it is. I’ll be ringside again shooting candids of all the action, as well as shooting candids outside on the beautiful grounds. Feel free to talk to me either at the show site or via email (email@example.com) about scheduling an individual photo shoot of your Corgi star!
Wishing everyone good luck and most importantly, a great time with your friends and doggies!
I thought the New Year was starting off just fine, then life threw a whammy! My in-laws had health issues that required spending the end of January, February and March in my hometown to care for them.
Mom on her swing - Mother's Day 2008
Then on March 3rd my dear, sweet Mother passed away after her 20-year battle with cancer. Needless to say, there hasn’t been time for photo shoots or time to update this blog, but I did want to post a photo of Mom that I took last Mother’s Day. Her hair had started to grow back and she was enjoying sitting on her swing poolside. Unfortunately, later that summer she went back on chemo as the cancer had spread to her lungs. Believe me she was a “hair” person and it took everything I could do to get her to let me photograph her. She was my biggest fan, though, and I think she knew why I was so bent on taking her picture whenever I could. Miss you, Mom, but know you’re in a better place….
Finally finished uploading the balance of the agility candids from the PWCCA National Specialty. What a fun day that was to be a spectator! Beautiful weather and footing, and those corgis were flying…. To see the official photos of the event, please visit Gary Depp’s website and gallery at http://www.inmotionphotos.biz
I’m working on the PWCCA obedience/rally candids and should have them up for viewing this weekend. Again, check Gary’s site for the official show photos.
